Rain Wins Again at Devil’s Bowl Speedway

June schedule sees changes; open practice added Tuesday night

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Devil’s Bowl Speedway has cancelled its stock car racing event for Sunday, June 2, due to weather. Heavy rain moved in at the speedway on Saturday night, and the forecast calls for more rain on Sunday.

The event has been rescheduled to Sunday, June 9, at 6:00 p.m., and will be the third attempt at completing the opening night program, which was interrupted on May 19 by rain during qualifying. Racing resumes at the third heat race for the Pepsi Sportsman Modifieds, followed by action for all five weekly divisions and Spectator Races.

Grandstand tickets and pit area wristbands from May 19 will be honored on June 9 or at any event during the 2019 season with regular admission pricing ($12 grandstands, $25/$35 pit area); see the full schedule at www.DevilsBowlSpeedwayVT.com for details.

An open practice session has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 4, weather permitting. The pit area will open at 5:00 p.m., with practice from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Pit passes are $20; the grandstands will be open at no charge. No track or series license is required to participate, and any safe racecar is welcome regardless of rules or division.

With the change to the racing program on June 9, the Charlie LaDuc Memorial 54-lap special originally scheduled for that date has been moved to June 23. Special events for the Mini Stock and 500cc Mini Sprint divisions will be rescheduled and will be announced soon.

Devil’s Bowl Speedway is located on Route 22A in West Haven, Vt., four miles north of U.S. Route 4, Exit 2, and just 20 minutes from Rutland, Vt.
