Devil’s Bowl Speedway Kicks Off 60th Season in April - 2026 schedule packed with dirt-track action & special events!

WEST HAVEN, Vt.-- Devil’s Bowl Speedway’s diamond anniversary will be celebrated this summer as “New England’s Fastest Dirt Track” rings in its 60th season of racing action. Powered by McGee Family of dealerships Devil’s Bowl Speedway was Built in 1967 on a patch of West Haven, Vermont farmland, the ½ mile oval has carved a significant place in Northeast racing history and continues to provide quality entertainment six decades later.
The 2026 season brings an extra-special flair, an April 25 opening night date, among the earliest in speedway history, especially in its dirt surface configuration. That final Saturday in April, the growing DIRTcar 358 Modified series comes to the green mountains for the “King of the Clay,” a 60-lap, $5,000-to-win event for the near-600 horsepower “small-block” modifieds. The following week, Saturday, May 2 the Sunoco Sportsman Modifieds open their season with the annual 32-lap, $3,200-to-win Matt Bilodeau Memorial race. The following week on May 9, the Xtreme DIRTcar midget series will make an early visit to “the bowl.” The month of May also features a 500cc mini-sprint special (May 16) with the season’s first 50-lap enduro and the fan-favorite kids’ poster contest night (May 30).
Later in May, the “Northeast Crate Nationals” will again run Memorial Day Sunday with a 100-lap, $5,000-to-win Sunoco Sportsman Modified feature, marking the 6th consecutive time the event has been held at Devil’s Bowl.
In June, kids’ racecar rides and bicycle giveaway are back (June 6 and 13, respectively) along with driver autograph night and the mid-season championships (June 27). Also coming back in June is the Short Track Super Series for big and small-block modifieds. Since 2022, the STSS has stopped at Devil’s Bowl on Fathers’ Day Sunday for a massive show with the area’s top modified stars and 2026 will be no different.
The month of July kicks off with the coveted “Firecracker 44” for the Sunoco Sportsman Modifieds, accompanied by the biggest fireworks display in central Vermont presented by McGee Automotive Family. The Legends’ Night Vince Quenneville, Sr. Memorial (July 11) and Hometown Heroes Night (July 25) are also back again in 2026.
August brings back the 67-lap, $5,000-to-win Vermont 200 qualifier race on Sunday, August 2, preceded by a $2,000-to-win 358 Modified race on Saturday, August 1. The following week, August 8 is summer break, but racing returns on August 15 with kids’ rides again and another 50-lap enduro. The month of August ends with the 54-lap Charlie LaDuc Memorial, another Vermont 200 qualifier.
Labor Day weekend, of course, means the return of the Vermont 200! A massive, two-day festival of dirt-track racing culminating with the richest sportsman modified race in the northeast paying a whopping $10,067 to win. The season ends the following week, Saturday, September 12 with a rain-date of September 19.
All told, there are 23 dates on the 2026 schedule with something for everyone mixed in. Devil’s Bowl Speedway will again feature the Sunoco Sportsman Modifieds as a weekly headliner with the O’Reilly Auto Parts Limited Sportsman accompanying them, along with the novice sportsman, mini-stocks, and 500cc mini-sprints. The DIRTcar 358 Modifieds (seven), midgets (two), renegades (one), crown vics (10) and enduros (six) also make appearances in 2026. The full schedule is posted on MyRacePass with more details. Saturday, April 25 is just 12 weeks away! The 60th season of racing at Devil’s Bowl promises to be absolutely electric. Don’t miss a moment! Visit DevilsBowlSpeedwayVT.com for more information!
